Great weekend away with the CLNSW mob, then to meet the CLQLD mob in Walcha was icing on the cake !
As usual, bullshit and banter of varying quantities made for even more enjoyment added to the riding.
The older group had a good run up and over the mountains, and then the 3 Dell equipped 180's (75 3c, 76 JOTA and 79 JOTA) grouped together at the front as the road opened up, and enjoyed the long roller coaster run into Walcha. Marty, Joel and Yam David tucked in behind. The setting sun was a bugger for a while......
With the warbling of the JOTA pipes a nice accompaniment to the rapidly dropping temperatures (and cooling fingers and toes).
As for Brett's stop, I think he just wanted to leave the younger set up front and enjoy riding with the other 180 1000's and young Joel on his RE 650.
80k's of continuous bend swinging in a conga line of LAVs with booming exhausts is one of lifes pleasures that just has to be experienced.
Great lead out Brett, good pace that enabled all of us to enjoy the ride, and l reckon Joel really enjoyed it by the smile on his dial !
Well done young man.
I am surprised nobody has started a battery topic following Sunday mornings varying starting procedures, but there is always time !
As for the loss of hair, Debs LAVERDA hoodies did a wonderful job of keeping our chrome domes nice and warm on Saturday night and Sunday morning.
My ride back home back along the Oxley was uneventful till I came to a young fella who had dropped his cruiser after sliding on one of those drainage ditches. Good clothing saved him any damage, but the bike was gravel rashed all down down the rhs, even tho on a signposted 35kph corner at Mount Seaview. He got mobile so I motored off having a giggle at his comment 'man that bike is loud, I could hear you for about 3 minutes coming down the mountain'.
Think my rejoiner of 'stock standard JOTA pipes' left him puzzled.
Another smile weekend with the mob. THANKS CHAPS.
