Hello,

You know the sweetness of our legendary clutches 750 ... :D
I discovered that the clutch on my 500 (not restored) is about twice as hard!
This is normal, or as in SF, there is an alternative?
Thank you for your answers.

No this isn't normal. For a Laverda the clutches have a light pull. A couple of things that will make a world of difference are that the cable itself has no stiction and that the arm on the actuator isn't too far forward (say about 30 degrees behind being parallel to the clutch pushrod/gearbox output shaft).

I found using a Venhill cable made a big difference over the original cable. They are teflon lined. They also supplied a spare inner and solderless nipples which I keep in the seat hump as a backup.

Even the stock Laverda clutch cables work OK for a while.  Keep it lubed and it will be OK for quite a while....

Probably rust or other crap jamming the cable.  As Tom stated, the pull is normally extremely light, by Laverda standards!

As Tom has pointed out, the adjustment of the actuator is critical and often overlooked . It's mechanical advantage can be drastically reduced if it's incorrectly adjusted and the result is a heavy clutch. Correctly adjusted, the 500 clutches are reasonably light to operate.
