Clutch cables

Does anyone know if clutch cables from triples fit SF twins, I thought they did. Wagners have different part numbers. Venhill only list for "Jota" and 1200.
Also has anyone used Venhills DIY clutch cable kit and can recommend them.
Thanks
Lee

Straight swap, Tippie.  At least for SF2/3+triples using the Tomaselli lever.  Earlier twins with Verlicchi or Lucas levers had slightly different cables.

Actually, just the height of the handlebar that makes the difference.

All Cables Stretch over time - Particularly the Clutch Cable and they usually break the Pill off at the Handle Bar Lever.

My Fix is to Lock 2 Nuts of the approx size of the round pill onto a bolt then stick it in a Drill. Using a File, Round the Nut to the correct Diameter then Drill a Hole through the nut into the inside in which you shove the end of the broken cable into the nut & Fray the End  - Then fill with soldier - It's much stronger then the Original Pill Crimping.

Seem to remember the clutch cable from an old Kwaka 650 was a direct fit? And they're nylon lined these days so may be a bit easier to pull so to speak.

HUH! Good Luck - FIX The Cable if you can & I've given you one solution. The Laverda clutch will almost break the Cable when the mill isn't turning but easily done with 1 or 2 fingers once rolling.

One if the BEST Clutch Pkg's I've ever handled & in my opinion, after 40 Years, & still together.

Breganze's are Sweet Hearts & you have to know every Nut & Bolt but most of all "Love them" because Your Dead with every flick of the throttle - Very Fast Ride Indeed.

My Riding Buddies are mostly Triumph, Norton, Harley & Jap from my era; however, I'm the only Cafe Rider & one that was a Die Heart Motorcyclist Racer; Who gives a Sh*t, other then I ride a Breganze.

I was looking at the very same thing yesterday, decided to order the featherlight version as it got a good review in another clutch thread here.

one thing I did wonder, would it be worth fitting the longer cable they sell in order to make the turns wider and therefore smoother to pull?

Bimbo, I?ve got that at the moment, it passes behind the LH fuel tap and outside the LH carb but is visible and does protrude slightly. I figure with the longer arm down the bottom and their slick cable it?ll be fine, plus I have low bars now.
I think I?ll just buy one and skip the soldering, but buy their throttle cable DIY kit.

I ordered my cable today and this place http://www.allensperformance.co.uk/products-levers.htmlis just down the road from me so I think I will invest in a new perch and lever, if this is still to stiff for my girlie arm then I will look at extending the bottom lever.

I actually got the feather light and the "heavy duty cable" and tried both -  there is no discernable difference in clutch pull between the two but the heavy duty cable is  - well more heavy duty - I went with it as hoping it will be less likely to eventually wear out/break or stretch and put the other cable in the bike for road side emergency

john, if you have to go with the extended lever kit
the one from wolfgang is a bit long for the supplied bracket
i find i have to drill a new hole lower on the arm so the cable is a straight pull
and not rubbing on the end of the cable housing

there is also enough room inside the cover to extend it a smaller amount
without slotting the cover

wider smoother bends help with internal friction
i like LaverdaSF's fix as the cables all seem to fail at the lever end
i've always cleaned the socket and pill then used liberal amounts of antiseize compound
so pill is free to rotate a bit
