Comments please ...

Contrary to some, the SF is not exactly an easy bike to ride. Once you get to know the mechanics she's enjoyable to service, maintain and reliable but demands PRACTICED Cafe Riding Skills with rewarding results. A lot of experienced riders have refused to take my 70 750SF for a spin.

My legs where too long for them center mounted rear-sets so I had to design my own mounted on the rear peg location. I did keep the center pegs as I needed to use them on occasions.

A beauty of an SF there ;o)

Unbelievable what they're are asking for them these days - At that price, I would consider a modern used BMW F 800 GT or Honda VRF800 if your into Cafe Sport Touring - Much cheaper and with better performance.

The 1st thing I would do is get rid of that crotch grabbing tail light ;o)

Looks shiny. I'd be surprised if the mileage is genuine. Can't really tell, but front discs look non orig, front guard def non orig, tail light ditto. headers are so low they will drag far too easily (you can see the overly long brackets for the mufflers) - but can be sorted with judicious bending and reattaching. If only we could get a trustworthy internal engine report!

Much too expensive for a bike with a Honda rear light support.

And plenty of non original stuff.

"the vehicle runs great and is mainly used for auto shows". Is the seller talking about his van? Owned one year.
Find a less clean one that is used and that its owner knows.

my thoughts exactly ...

I suspect it may have originally been an SFC that someone has tried to make into an SF replica .......... pretty soon there will be hundreds of them.

I think that you're on to something.
If it had been an original SF, it would have been orange.
That colour is hiding something.

Tank Badge? Someone did the same to my SF 2 tank before I bought it back in 1980. They beat out the badge recess and ground off the mounting screw brackets. I had to get tank badge indents from a former Forum member that he cut out from an old tank he had and weld them into mine. Luckily I'd been a welder for 45 years and could do it myself. End result was perfect, worth the effort to get it back to original. :) The tank on this bike looks pretty nice though, it would cost you a fortune to do what I did at this stage for the sake of "Rebadging ".

Looking at it on ebay, it has lots of incorrect parts. What I can see:

Front fender wrong.

Anodizing removed from brake calipers.

Brake discs are wrong.

Headlight is wrong....... I think?

Headlight mounts are wrong...... I think? Should they not be rubber mounted like a triple?

Front master cylinder is wrong.

Serial number would make it a 1974 not 1975.

A 1974 bike in the USA would shift on the left side.

Replica exhaust system that does not fit very well,

Rear fender............ can't tell but maybe incorrect?

Taillight is wrong.

Turn signals are wrong.

Seat is wrong.

Air filter box is missing.

Air in the tires is not from 1975.

I don't believe the mileage is correct either and suspect this was a crashed bike that has been made to look pretty with whatever parts he could find.

Assuming the motor is OK, I would say $7500 at most.

One thing you did miss, the font of the laverda sticker on the tank is wrong
