Nosher Powell selling the burgers! Proper villain - his brother was Dinny Powell who was also a villain that played a villain in the Sweeney!
“Couple of ice creams that are in the frame for that last caper in the manor, Guv”

What was that Pom cop show with Bodie and the other bloke ripping around doing crazy car chases that would be terminated immediately these days? Gordon Jackson was there boss.

That would be all those chases where a clapped out Morris delivery van outran a police pursuit car?

As expected the "World Political RANT !" Topic was Killed because of ONE Insufferable Political Ranter ;o(
Here's Jeffery Sacks, a US Economists and Speaker for the United Nations:
I promise not to indulge on this topic anymore ;o)

So much short-term thinking, they supported exactly the wrong people every time for short-term gains, and inevitably, that would blow up in their face.

It makes me very sad, with today's technology, why are we still killing one another ?
There's NO Short or Long Term answer - JUST STOP THE KILLING !

OK - I'm SHUTTING UP.

..... Back on track ........ the late great Dave Myers with his favourite bike .......... but why red plug caps ? ........ even worse they appear to be the angled ones too .........

NGK do straight black ones ........ fit those for heavens sake .......

Guzzi have succeeded in creating a loyal and quite diverse following with their range of bikes. It is very popular for Guzzi riders here to do the pilgrimage to Mandello, no doubt be even more when that opens.

This YouTube Flic makes my old muscles Twitch:
However: I can't get over why you Blokes insist to ride on the wrong side of the road and get away with it without killing yourselves ;o)

How to make a motorcycle ........ workforce must be 95 % under 30 years old ....... and wearing a full face helmet when unleashing that 27.2 bhp is a must ....... It`s health and safety gone mad ... !!!!!

I think I spotted a carb , so must be a few years ago .......

What would really drive me bonkers though is that continual beep-beeping from the testing of the horns .......

Those paint spraying robots look a bit spooky to me , wearing those dresses .......

A while ago over in Japan , an assembly robot began to malfunction , so a worker stepped over the barrier to try and fix it ........ whereupon the robot grabbed him , pinned him against a control panel ...... and proceeded to beat him to death ........

Who says machines don`t have feelings ?

Whilst searching for Laverda racers I came across this video today. First National road race event of the year in March 1985. It was possibly my first outing at Thruxton and was my first race on my fairly recently acquired RGS Corsa, which had previously been reasonably successfully raced, in 1983, by Motodd with Welshman, Kevin Hughes at the controls.
When we arrived the circuit was covered in snow and I was pretty well convinced we wouldn't be racing that day. However, by late morning the circuit was clear and off we went. As you will see we raced on despite snow flurries and Greg Page having his massive off at the start of the back straight. Can't imagine that happening now.
Although I don't get a mention by name the 'big Laverda' gets a few mentions and I am in shot around the 8 minute mark as I am passed by the leaders. I wasn't too disappointed by the result - it was a finish in my first race - and my bike was nowhere near as fast as the Jap fours; and Thruxton is a power circuit. Even the commentator remarks on the top speed of the Kawasaki's, which was probably around 20 mph more than the 'big Laverda'.

I spent an amazing two weeks doing a mechanics course in the Enfield factory in 1992 - that was at the old factory which is long gone. It was all pretty basic and the quality control was very poor. They had an old guy who was the only one entrusted with doing the striping on the tanks.

Went out on rides with a bunch of the mid management, about 30 of us tearing up the roads of Tamil Nadu on our Bullets. Best bit was the factory canteen, as is the way in south India it was tasty vegetarian food eaten with your hands - they had these big long stainless steel tables and the food just got server directly onto them and then everything is hosed off for the next setting.

Then we were off on our Bullets across rural India, first proper highway we saw was a few weeks later past Delhi and a truck immediately tried to kill me. Rode across into Pakistan and on to Peshawar. My mate who was organizing planned to try to cross Afghanistan but I had my limits and left him at that point (he did not get across the border and ended up having to airfreight the bikes to Tashkent).
