Don't go doing a Meatloaf and collapsing. He's the same age as you but I suspect you're in better physical shape than he is. He doesn't look like he gets a lot of exercise.

I think Marty's big one as well. One of the local bike sites has come up with a great saying. Gaps are Traps. Works for a few things,beat you blokes to it. See any gap in traffic around an intersection,petrol station drive way or any other place you dont expect anything to suddenly appear out of. Watch out.
 
Good reminder of what my dad taught me years ago. Even if you think you are a good driver / rider, that is not the issue. It is everyone else out there. Also good reminder that gargaes / petrol stations are danger zones.

The US, or at least California, riding schools teach SIPDE - scan , identify, predict, decide, execute.

Good reminder for all riders, novice to expert.
 
Riding (or driving) considerably faster than the rest of the traffic makes you very vunerable. Stupid riding as well as driving right there.
