Copper exhaust port gasket

Since you're in USA, you might wanna try Aircraft Spruce. They'd probably be cheaper than your local Honda parts seller.
There's an Aircraft Spruce store about an hour away from you in Corona CA, but they do mail order as well if you don't feel like going for a ride.

Not sure whether the thicker copper exhaust sealing rings I tried were for a Honda, but they did not seal properly.
Reason being, that when they were tightened and they spread out, the OD of the rings contacted the wall of the exhaust port. This prevented them from being compressed enough to seal.

1. Imperial (aircraft) alternative
AN900-24 = MS35769-39

1½” x 1¾” x 3/32” = 38.1mm x 44.4mm x 3.4mm.

These work.

2. Honda alternatives
Part number: 18291-MM5-860
(37.4mm x 44.8mm x 4.1mm)

Part number: 18291-MN4-920
(35mm x 43mm x 4mm)
Honda CB250 (Super)Dream; CB 450S, VT 600C; XL 600V '87-'99; NTV 650 Rev. '88-97; XRV 650; CBR 900 RR '92-99 etc etc

Might have been because you had the bigger ones, the MM5-860s, rather than the smaller MN4-920s (see my post above).

Dunno. But as Cam said, the aircraft ones, the AN900-24s, definitely work.

Measured mine, and they seem to be the MM5-860's.
Can't recall whether they were a problem on the 3C or the Jota. Perhaps the 3C ports are smaller?

Thanks for the info Cam it is very much appreciated. I will definitely do the mail-order route, a ride on the Laverda (or any bike) Interstate 10 to the 91 is like a punishment from God, what was my crime?
Although back when I was young and fearless I commuted to Pomona from Palm Desert on my old 3C, CHP officers got to know me on a first-name basis.

I just had a look along parts of the route on Google Maps street view. Yeah, it looks a bit boring. Multi-lane highway with bugger-all corners. You'd be droning along at a constant speed 99% of the way. Probably hot and dry too. The countryside looks like a typical desert scene from an old western movie.
 
Interstate10 was the worst part about visiting Dave.
From Half Moon Bay, Hwy1 down the coast to Pasadena then over the Angeles Crest Hwy, fantastic riding then San Bernadino to Palm Springs on
Interstate 10, 100 and something miles of mind numbing tarmac.

100 plus miles of I 10 is nothing, remember this super slab Interstate (aka The Christopher Columbus Trans-Continental Highway) is almost 2500 miles long west to east, not the longest in the US. 2500 miles not one traffic light or intersection, you can get to places quickly but you will not see America from the Interstate, no place for a motorcycle.

Thanks for this tip Cam I got 10 of them in the mail today, $2.66 for postage about the cost of 2 litres of fuel. This forum works(y):)
