OK Steven, 24 for the for the bloke on that long skinny pile of rocks off the east coast of our mainland.

Just checked Australia Post's on-line postage cost calculator. Forwarding air mail cost to NZ for a package less than 500 grams is $9.95.
Or if you prefer, I could send a parcel via Express Courier International Platinum at the bargain price of $70.62.

OK Phil

That brings the total to 299 gaskets. They said yesterday they only had 327 in stock, and I don't know how many of those they might sell to someone else by the time I place an order.

Rather than wait until later in the week (to give folks on here a chance to get an order in), I'll do it now and ask for all 327.

Cheers,
Cam

Just placed an order for their entire stock of 327 gaskets. Hopefully they haven't sold any in the last 24 hrs.

Scored a discount of 20% which more than covers the postage cost - must be for ordering a large quantity! So the price including postage came to 75.2 cents each.

I'll keep you informed of progress. In the meantime, can those who have ordered (and anyone else wanting the remaining 28 gaskets) please email me their postal details?

G'day Steve

Someone has already PM'd me to claim 12 of them, so at this stage there's 16 left and they're yours. If you need any more, let me know. You can have some of mine.

All this assumes that they still have the 327 in stock that they had a couple of days ago. It's still Sunday evening in USA now, so I suppose I'll find out when someone gets into work on Monday morning USA time, which will be Tuesday for us in Australia.

I can just picture it:

Somewhere in the USA.........

Steve: "Hey Brad, some crazy fucker from Tasmania just ordered 327 of those old exhaust gaskets. Go see how many we got?"

Brad: "We got six, we threw the rest out in the stocktake"

Steve: "Aw shit!  Send him an email pretending we're Canadians and only speak French"

:D :D

What makes you think they've ever heard of Tasmania? You'd be horrified at the number of white supremacists who want to move to Australia because all they know about it is that's where Hitler was from  :-X.

Remember going to my first trade show in the US in 1987 - the bloke on one stand asked me where I came from.  When I told him Australia, he said that my English was very good.

Same show I met up with a customer from Sydney and we were having a chat in the aisles between trade displays.  The bloke on a stand nearby was listening and started laughing..  We asked him what was so funny and his said he couldn't believe that it was true - that we really say G'Day to each other....

Times have changed a lot, but I still get the Crocodile Dundee references from time to time.

Must admit that they found "as dry as a Nun's nasty", "playing the pink oboe (or blue-veined flute)" and "cracking a fat" very amusing - I printed out an Aussie Slang Dictionary to hand out for a laugh.

Was told by a yank in Pearl Harbour that I spoke really good english for an Austrian. How about 'she bangs like a dunny door in a force nine gale'.
