Hi All, i'm having my silver Jota tank/panels resprayed, does anyone know the colour code that is closest to the original 1977 silver? i've seen a few silver bikes and each one looks a slightly different shade, i'd like to keep mine as close to original as possible.

TIA.

I asked for 9006 on my SF stuff, but the painter stuffed up and did 9007, he freaked and offered to redo it, but it looks great, a bit deeper not so light. You can only really tell the differences if sat side by side, unfaded etc.

Hi All, can anyone tell me if the 'laverda' decals on the side of the tank on my 1977 Jota were original from the factory?...the decals on mine are stickers that look like they've been put on as an afterthought, i've seen some silver and some metallic gold bikes from 1977/78 that have them and some that haven't , i'm having it resprayed in the next few weeks and would like it as original as possible.

Yhe silver paint will fade rapidly, UV proof clear laquer is a help and also makes the stickers "contained", so no black marks around the edges over time, but the steel tank and plastic parts, will fade at different rates, on some bikes there is plastic, fibre glass, Bayflex, carbon fibre and Kevlar as well as the steel, all will fade at different rates, that is why when you see a 1200TS with all the fcatory body work (or aftermarket) the paint rarely matches.

The Laverda stickers on the tank weren't Factory, but neither were JOTAs, originally. They were a common sight, some added by Dealers, some by Owners. Probably, largely from having been applied to the 'Proddy racers, as seen below.

They were just common or garden stickers probably slapped on by Slaters. I do have what appears to be an original silver side panel with Jota painted on badly possibly with a stencil.

Thanks for all the replies, my painter says he will paint the logo's on if required (goodness knows how!) so no need for stickers, still haven't decided whether to have the 'Laverda' logo on the tank though.
