Corsa in Qld

$50K for a Corsa in QLD and 45 for an SFC1000 in WA advertised on bikesales today.

Earlier this year acid flooded the Oz trippers scene and looks like a few are laverda owners.

Don't see why Laverdas should be immune from the Covid value hike, everything else has shot up. Okay, both those prices are probably a bit on the speculative side, but realistically both were pretty much $30k bikes 18 months ago and the classic car and bike market has shifted upwards considerably since then.
I seem to remember that Corsa has been for sale before, also pitched high but not $50k high.

Before Paul starts moaning about overpriced ornaments never to be used again, the Laverda scene (at least in Australia) is probably more active now than at any time since the early 80's. Bikes are selling ~$30k to new owners and are on club rides every other weekend. Owners like me who've owned them for decades are also out enjoying them as often as our lives allow. People have seen that nothing is certain and are buying them and using them while they can. Covid and electric vehicles moving from mere curiosity to a near-term reality has only accentuated it.

The market decides - can't escape that simple fact. But it's pretty amazing that the price of an SFC1000 today matches the asking price for an SFC750 of maybe 5 years ago. Chalk and cheese AFAIC - not to belittle the triples, but no amount of argument can put them in the same rarity basket, regardless of how many were made.

Agreed the value in Au for the SFC should now be around AUD30,000. Having owned it for 1/3 of its miles I can confirm 12,470Km is accurate. It is a great bike with excellent provenance over 4 owners.

I've not been in contact with the current seller who may have priced based on the Corsa. I doubt he'd be up to speed on real market value so an opportunity is there for an interested buyer to negotiate. He may unknowingly be affecting his ability to sell if he needs to.

Specially if a Perspex buyer reads this thread.
