Crankcase marking

Hi All

Has anyone seen or does anyone have A Jota with the small raised circle on raised section of the crank case cover to the front side of the Laverda logo?
To me it looks like it could be a previous repair or it’s cast that way for a reason.

Might be very neat repair, BUT often indicative of the needle bearing going for a walk, outward. If the history is unknown - then I would suggest getting the cover off and see what is inside. If you can't see an obvious issue with the bearing, then the source of problem is often crank runout.
