Paul Allender was in my class at Anderstorp 2019 for the FIM classic champs round. Fortunately his fairing held all the gearbox oil that escaped with the gear that spat out the bottom of the cases of the big TZ, allowing me to come in second, ahead of Jurgen Reidel on a Bakker CB1000 Bol D´or Honda who won the FIM series that year ("what´s in that bloody Laverda twin?"). Nice guys in the FIM series, very keen. Good to see Paul is still at it.

Great story.
I really admired his TZ, im generally not a big fan of 2 strokes ( moped issues) but the 750 2 strokes appeal.

Paul asked my associate rider ( 500 Monty) if he was riding the Jota.
I'd got ahead from behind the grid, of all the bikes in our 2nd wave but the hairpin came up real quick and he said the back wheel was 6 inches in the air as i was braking desperately !

The new softer street pads are awesome and work from the off!
Unfortunately i didnt get much quicker over my 3 races, maybe half second per lap, the rest did get quicker, 2 seconds per lap difference.
I never out accelerated them off the grid after that first race 3 😁

Solid mid-pack performance with a bit of dicing, great stuff. And you finished on the chequered flag and not on the trailer of shame which is always positive. You’ll always struggle to beat the SVs off the line. Now that you know how hard you can brake into the hairpin you’ll have to do it all the time 😉 Keep an eye on your brake pads, they may wear out faster than you think 😁

Was at Brands on the Sunday. Your bike was looking good & sounding nice ! That Guzzi was flying !

DONINGTON PARK
Had a full on Racing weekend at Donington Park .
Learning the track on Friday courtesy of Classic Bike Trackdays, excellent tuition. I finally got the layout by friday afternoon after exploring the gravel at Coppice.

Saturday I was in deep with practice mid morning. There was around 535 entries for this crmc race meeting.

Saturday pm race was cancelled due to a serious accident.
Sunday Pm i had a great start but a dnf due to ignition failure.
Out of the 2 races I completed, sunday am was my best. 4 classes in my race, minitwins, proddy fz600's, cb500s and Superbike originals.

Placing about midway through 35 bikes and 4th in class. Mike Edwards showing how fast a top tier racer can take a CB500

I could outrun the 500/600s on the straights easily but corners, I have to run wider.
Top speed, 131 mph/211kmh.

Gearing still to high.
