Anybody who have the standardheight from bottom to the top ? and how much or little is recommended to remove to get the barrel flat on the top.
Remember I have seen it for the cylinderhead here.

Thanks Phil, but I'm after the height from a new unskimmed cylinderblock so i can check how much
the previous owner has removed from this block I'm working on.
The surface on the top looks really bad like someone have tried to skim it with a stone.

Kind regards  Kent

Well, doesn't the 1000 barrels have spigots standing proud of the barrel face?
Would they have to be removed before refacing the top of the barrels?

just measured 3 sets of barrels for you, they all measured 105.5mm

Grant, skimming the barrels can be problematic for the machinist due to the dissimilar materials being cut, depending on the method used

The 1000 barrel does have a protruding spigot but the top flange of the liner where the gasket flame ring bears is 0.1mm / 0.004" shy of the top of the barrel casting, so on a 1000 barrel the liners will have to be removed to skim the barrel top face then the top flange heights re set before refitting the liners, the 1200 barrels can be skimmed with the liners in and the top flange height can be re set with the boring head on a milling machine.
All fixable but a better / cheaper option may be to find another set of barrels.
