I have recently brought fuel hose from these guys that i am trialing on another bike, they do various types and sizes, recommended via someone from another (Z1) owners club.

The best I have found is the "Cavis type" fuel line from Bevel Heaven. Most of the "other" Cavis style hose turns into a wooden discolored condition after a year.

This fuel line remains flexable and retains its color. You will not be disappointed. https://store.bevelheaven.com/Dellorto/Fuel-Hose-7-x-12-Cavis-Benz/

Thank you gents , Bevel Heaven eh , ok everything ive every got reguarding green type or as you say
CavisType , has gone woodern and seemed to shrink and lasts about six months , cheers you all for guide line , will order some up next week , 👍🏻

I found some green silicone 7 x 12mm tubing on Ebay once, worked well, never found it again.

Just go to an automotive outlet and buy a length of approved fuel line. May be black but won't go hard and brittle.
Depends which is most important to you; originality or safety.

I've been using MotionPro's fuel line Black or Gray...

I've been using Tygon brand fuel hose for several years now. Very soft, yellowish translucent. Doesn't go hard.

Available through garden power tool/mower shops here.

Highly recommended.

Steve at Bevel used to inventory two "Cavis" fuel lines. One was marked and the other unmarked.

One marked as "Cavis Benz 7x12", was blue green and was not very durable. Not offered anymore.

The Cavis style he sells now (the only offering on the website) is the second unmarked green Cavis and is very durable.

I gave up on translucent fuel line, although I think I must have got the "wrong" type of Cavis Benz. I'm trying Continental braided rubber, 7mm, trying it on my Honda right now. Available from lots of automotive sources, I got it from my local speed shop.

Clear PVC is no good for fuel. It goes hard fairly quickly when in contact with petrol. I've tried the green fuel line advertised as "Cavis Benz - original for Laverda, blah blah", and that also goes hard in about 5 minutes after exposure to fuel too, so I presume it's just green coloured PVC.

I've used polyurethane fuel line with some success. It doesn't go hard, but it gets discoloured after a while. It comes in a bunch of colours. If you buy the pale blue, it goes a dirty greenish colour after a while, so it looks (sort of) original!

It's available on ebay, just search for polyurethane fuel line. 1/4" is a bit tight and quite difficult to fit over the spigots. 5/16" slips on easily, but you need to have good worm drive hose clamps to make sure it doesn't leak.

Here's a link to an ebay supplier https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Motorcycle-Blue-Polyurethane-Fuel-Line-5-16-ID-3-Universal/133324978283?epid=1228602867&hash=item1f0ac9b86b:g:GrwAAOSwAfVbv5hY

I cannot remember why but I needed to source some food rated and apparently chemically resistant hose once, the high-grade stuff is very very expensive.

I wonder if it was this type Grant?

When i first joined this forum i did a big search on Fuel pipe posts to see what most people used, came across one that gave details of a link or name of a company they had used that still stocked it and when i looked into it was cheaper than the price paid for the Cavis Benz type as supplied by the usual suppliers so i ordered some.

When it turned up it was green but was similar to a silicon rubber much more flexible than the Cavis benz type........I was slightly disappointed as i like the look of the clear hose and it may sound strange but its one of the little cool Jota's standout characteristics that's always noticed...........anyway i ended up using the pipe on my stand alone tank used for carb balancing and up to now have had no issues with it at all.

looks very similar to that linked above.

Believe it or not , Ralf Allen at  Motoitalia , and  advanced fluid solutions are looking good , Ralf is double the price of any one else but , hay ho , no shock there then ,,,,and im overwhelmed by choices on fluid solutions , been interesting , might just have it good old black like it used to be back in the day of none choice , when fuel pipe was black end off , do think alot of these coloured fuel pipes are shit products really , going of what most folk have said , Grant , fluid soutions looks good on the silicon based fuel pipe , choices and will it work , Might just buy black and not have any more issues , cheers for all ya comments , been an other interesting learning curve ,👍🏻, jam the brakes on , just read ya post schurminater , will take a look , CHEERS LADS YOUVE BEEN VERY HELPFUL

I just remembered what I needed the chemically inert clear hose for. It was to connect the remote brake reservoir to the master on my front brake. The first hose I used would sweat brake guild, the hose I eventually used cost me $50 oz for 300mm and was rated for food and chemicals, its been on a few years now is still nice and flexible.

I bought some (allegedly) Cavis hose from a classic Fiat dealer, not very dear for a 25 metre drum, but in storage it has turned blue, when it was green to start with, and that is inside a cool dark cupboard, I have also noticed with most of the see through fuel hose, that it functions (mostly) very well all the time it is in use and has petrol in it, but if it is "dry" for more than about 3 or 4 days it goes rock hard and can even snap when bending it to refit.
