Disconnect Accelerator Pumps

isnt it surprisng how pasionate and dedicated individuals can be, with what they believe in.
me? well, I dont realy mind, I will give almost anything a shot, especially if it does not involve same gender sex or splashing out loads of dosh, whatever floats your boat.

Vince/Clem - I fitted the later main jet holder & nuts to the Monty years ago, Hagrid assured me that they supplied more fuel to the main jet area, i guess lowering the main jet in relation to the fuel level removed the risk of the jet being uncovered while cranked over on one of those long smooth fast bends Caithness is famous for?  :D

Surely you jest.  Gravity is always aligned with the bike's central plane, regardless of lean angle.

I was thinking any extra capacity in the bowl would be good,as the main jet is down low it would have to be close to horizontal to uncover the jet.Do they match the flow of the needle and seat to expected consumption. As I said earlier there are different sizes of needle jets.

I cant remember if the low jet holders came before or after the high ones, but surely if the float level remains the same, then the lower the jet the harder it is for vaccuum to raise it into the carb venturi for emulsifying,
and Cam, Ross goes round corners with hise wheels at all times, exactly 90 degrees to the tarmac, so centrifugal forces take over

Clem,

The early PHB/F had the "long" bowl nut, placing the main jet almost 1 cm lower than in the later PHF, as used on the RGS, etc.  You might have noticed the 120s have considerably smaller main jets (in stock form) than the bikes with the early carbs, despite delivering more power.  :D

Float valves are available in sizes ranging from 150 up to 420, the 250 as fitted to the triples and twins should be large enough to feed them in all conditions.

Thanks Piet, the float valves must have a point (as you increase the size to 250 and above)where the pet cocks and supply lines are the limiting factor, spomething the fcatory where also aware of, as that is why they installed the metal plated cross rail under the RGS carbs, not that it changes very much since you still have the same two petcockas feeding the cross rail, which has three ports to feed the three carbs, instaed of the earlier 180 system where the centr carb is fed jointly by a double banjo from both the left and right carb connection.
