Do Laverda fenders always fit this crappy?

Was thinking I will need to fashion some wedge shaped nylon washers because the fender will distort if I tighten any more.

Did someone re- weld that prior to chroming?
It may be the angle of the photo, but I’ve never seen one that bad a fit before.

Came with the un-assembled SF that I purchased. Repop? It really does look that bad.

These bikes did suffer from quality control. I'm sure you did but make sure the fender is not flopped. The brace could've bent from the fork mounts that should be rubber mounted, so maybe loosen them to align the fender mount better.

Mine don't sit flush, but nowhere near that bad.
Do things improve if you swap front to rear around?

Loosen it all up and wiggle it around.
If that doesn't suffice, bend that tab with a pair of pliers and be done.
Quality control?

They aren't all rubber mounted Ted, only the later ones.

The rear has the screws on the outside Gert

I’m no expert, mechanic or engineer. But it looks to me the tab is facing the wrong way. Try turning the bracket around, having the tab turn 180 degrees

It's facing the right way but, to me, it looks like someone welded on a much thicker than standard tab and at the wrong angle.
Compare them with mine?

The mudguard mounting tabs on the stays all face rearwards.
Bend the f...ing thing and be done.
