I was talking to him this morning, and he was trying to give me the email address, but his accent and my tardy lack of Italian meant it wasn't really possible!

Yep, but I'm not giving up. I've also written him a letter, with my email and phone number, which I sent today via recorded international post. However, if someone actually had his email address, that would be a massive help!

As Enrico said, it’s simply respecting his privacy. I wouldn’t want my email address plastered over the internet for spammers and scammers to have a field day.

I’m sure if he wanted to take and manage that route he’d have a website with a contact email, but he doesn’t.

That’s correct. Just to clarify, since I visit his shop often and I know him personally, he gave me the email address and authorized me to give it to whom is interested to contact him for business purposes (spare parts, etc.).
Therefore contract me through a PM and I will be more than happy to help.

I consider myself slapped on the wrist, but when I saw him 2 years ago he told me that he was keen to do business via email, it being the way forward, I had no idea he had changed his address, that information is safe here on this dedicated forum surely? most other dealers publish sensative information on the internet.

No Clem, it isn't safe to post such information here (an open forum) or arguably anywhere on the world wide web. Sadly some idiots like to scrape email addresses and phone numbers for spamming.
