Draining dead fuel - 668

You need a length of fuel hose and a male to male connector (eg an inline filter). If the tank is full, then siphon most of it out with the hose. This drops the fuel level so that it is below the level of the splitter you are about to disconnect. Then take the air box cover off and undo the jubilee clip where the line from the fuel pump connects to the T piece splitter underneath the injectors and pull this hose off. Plug your piece of spare hose into the pipe from the fuel pump and do up the clip. Then turn on the bike and the pump will run the remaining fuel out. It only runs for a short while on a timer so you will have to flick the kill switch on and off a few times.
It is only a ten minute job once you have the pipe and connector to hand.

It would be easier to drill a hole in the tank.
