Ducati Boffins Only

For all the esteemed members in the U.K.,Australia and Germany I need solid advice. I have acquired a
2003 Ducati 999. Some spares are required and I need SOLID contacts for spares dealers in those countries
that KNOW what they're doing.....not the NEW GEN carbon fibre glove and gadget generation of Ducati
dealers of the last five or ten years ! Ducati dealers that know the marque they are selling and not THE BRAND
they baffle the kiddies with. Luckily,for us the Laverda will never be like the Audi brand ! Mille Grazie. For what
its worth I'm not even thinking of dealing with N. American sources....too incompetent.
 
+1 Gowanloch's and I'm in the west Oz. If WA there's about 4 good ones but my experience (96 900ss, 1098R) is that the owner must do the work on anything other than recent models.

This guy has been involved with Ducatis for ages and knows them inside out. Was an official dealer until the leaders forced the Corporate Identity on all, he continued as an independant.

Probably parts, the 999 was one of Mr Motostrads', aesthetically not well-loved designs and didn't last too long so Maybe bodywork isn't around much.

Try https://www.ducati.ms/ , very active forum, after you sort through the usual banter they cover a lot of all things Ducati.
 
thanks Lads. The reason I asked for dealers in those three countries is that for over 50 years I
have bought Guzzi,Morini,Ducati spares with great results. When dealing with N. American
sources they are all newbies and don't stock things anyway. Having those countries as real
involved areas of ownership and support seems only logical to support them. Just as an example
try going to a Ducati dealer and asking about head gaskets for a 750 GT,you know an old bike.
The response will make you shudder. No, I've been in the Italian bike game a long time and know
where the true enthusiasts live and its not in N. America.at least when it comes to Ducati. I miss
Mick Walker and Bernie Adey as an example for you Brits.
 
Steve is an enthusiast but a businessman first and I'll leave it at that. As I mentioned I have
had great success dealing with U.K. and German dealers and sometimes with the Aussies.
Luckily in the 70's Lance Weil was operating in SoCal and later on of course the one and
only Wolfgang Haerter and family.
