Ducati wheels

I just bought a pile of parts and there was 4 ducati wheels (pantah).
Except for the ducati logo they look exactly as RGS wheels. Can any one confirm this?

Then rear cush drive mounting holes don't line up... 4 vs 6 bolt pattern.  Front may be a direct replacement.

Sure they aren't the infamous Speedlines?  They crack up in a bevel, imagine what they do when confronted with REAL power! :o

Hi you will find the front wheels dont have the boss for the speedo drive and are slightly narrower at the hub by around 3/4 inch from memory. For the rear the cush drive on a Ducati uses 5 bolts to mount to the wheel where a Laverda uses 4.
So for the front if you could locate the correct ratio speedo drive from a Ducati... Darmah's used ND instruments... fairy sure it was ratio of 25/9 and made up a spacer could run.
For rear you would need a Ducati cush drive boss which I see is already is on one of the wheels.. a Ducati cush drive and then a Ducati rear sprocket and make up some spacers then you could also run.
The good news is the Laverda Disc's will bolt up.
Best thing to do with them is to sell to a Ducati owner and buy a set with Laverda already on them. (Lavflag)

Nah.  Easy check: Speedlines have 5 spokes (also, all Pantahs came with FPS).

+1.  For one thing, 'cos of the Speedline problem, Ducati FPS wheels fetch more money than Laverda ones.

How many sets of forks???  :D

Since you can only store 2 sets of fork in a shed (one in each corner...) I had to make this "fork stand".
I have e few bikes in parts and some spare forks so I actually either extend the stand or start to assemble some of the projects...

Hej Thomas,

Yes, I recall that Ducatis did use visually identical wheels for a time - 900S2 was one such model.  I think the Pantah wheels were different.

These came from a Pantah so I guess I just sell them.
If I need to fix brackets and hubs I might just put on Astralites or Dymags.

I guess it would be no problem to repaint the rims on the RGS but it feels good to know that this is how it came from the factory. Sadly someone has used a screwdriver for tire replacement...

When you sell the wheels remember to double the price because they are for a Ducati!  :D :D :D

Well, I do have a couple of Ducs  (888 strada, 748R, 900 ssie, Cagiva GC). It seems as its only bevels and early belt bikes that are expensive.
Parts and bikes from mid 90:s are dead cheap.
I wouldnt mind getting a good price for the wheels though...  :D

You should be able to get ?200-250 for a pair, Thomas.  But I've also seen them go for more than that ...  :D.  Remember to say they fit the Bevels tho', 'cos it's mainly Bevel owners (=  1978/79 900SS & Darmah owners) changing over from Speedlines who want them.

P.s. Might be worth contacting Dirk at OCT to see if he knows anyone looking for some?

I've got a fork holder just like that but its full of shotguns and rifles
real ones not pea shooters
120 owners no doubt have Diana jerk guns, whereas 120 owners have Mossberg 500 bullpups and Parker Hale 303/270
