Early 750 Hub and Spokes

Beginning my American Eagle 750SS restoration and starting with the wheels. The spokes and rear hub have
been painted with silver paint which certainly seems to be done at the factory assembly stage. Have other
owners encountered this?

Don’t know what the exact paint/finish was of the Alpina spokes that Laverda used, but I do know that it wore off as if it was paint.

My AE has (had) what looked like painted spokes. Are spare spokes and nipples still available? The rear spoke thread measures about 4.4 x 0.75mm

Not sure if nos are available, but depending where you, are most wheel building firms can supply spokes and nipples from your sample. USA has Buchanans, UK has Central Wheel Components, other countries have smaller operation type wheel builders.

Yes, I bought a set of spokes locally for a Grimeca hub not long ago.
Otherwise, any competent concern will make spokes to your indications.

Stretch: Began de-spoking tonight. I am re-doing with polished stainless from Buchanans. Do you
need any of the usable spokes from my AE 750SS? If so ,let me know as I still need to do the rear
wheel. My bike has the early Grimeca front hub with the raised flares on the RH hub cover.
