After announcing my interest in becoming a part of the Laverda fraternity l was contacted by a few forum members. I?m happy to say I?ve purchased a black and gold 1977 Laverda Jota from fellow forum member Maurice Turner and I couldn?t be happier. What a awesome machine.
Maurice has been marvellous to deal with as I?m sure people that have dealt with him before know and people that will deal with him future will find out. I imported the motorcycle from Australia to New Zealand and had to make a very tight shipping deadline which Maurice kindly facilitated with not much notice at all. Maurice made the importation process very easy helping with anything I needed along the way.
I?ve put around 300 kms on the bike and loving it.
I know enough about motorcycle mechanics to be dangerous, I?m sure I will be asking many questions trying to learn as much as I can as I would love to be able to do as much work on the bike as possible.
Dave.

Well done Dave, a black Jota from the Southern Dealership is a bloody good start.

Cheers
Tom

So the Melbourne 'dealership' has finally gone international, I guess it's only a matter of time before new models are announced... :D :D

Good to see more Kiwis on Laverda's, despite everything people say about us kiwis, there is no denying we have good taste

Well done Dave, welcome to the assylum mate. Just remember you can check out anytime you want but you can never leave. What part of NZ are you in ? I have been watching the PRADA Cup from Auckland which brought back fond memories of the city and the some amazing roads around the Auckland  area. Welcome to the world of Laverda its a good place to be.

Yeah I?m pretty stoked to be part of the club. I?ve had many motorcycles but I feel like my quest for the right motorcycle for me has ended. If my dealings with Maurice are any Indication of the calibre of people that are part of this forum then this is going to be a great experience. Today I received the green book through the post Maurice kindly gave me so I?ll have my nose stuck in that for a few nights.
I live between whangarei and Russell about 6 kms from the east coast on a farm.
My Laverda is the sister bike to Miss prissy. I?ve tried to download a picture but the file is too big and I?m not really too sure how to resize it off an iPad.
Dave.

Maurice that?s the very picture I tried to upload.
A big thanks for letting me be the caretaker of this stunning machine. It?s such a tough looking beast.
I look forward To seeing what?s gonna come out of your shed in the future. Nice work mate.
Merry Christmas.
Dave.
