Early Jota exhaust color

The exhaust system I received with my 1977 Jota is painted black. Would this have been the finish on a Slater Jota shipped to the US? Frame no. 5232. It’s in pretty good shape so I could ceramic coat it if correct. Thanks - Ben

Not black originally. Just a cover up for rust or a go faster look.

Wouldn't be too quick with an assumption there...

A few variants had black headers for the US, these may or may not incorporate take-offs for gas testing.

79 Headers were Black from all reports........

Mine were Sperexed black, by me, in '79. Because the OEM chrome was shagged, by then.

My 79 Slater jota came with black, they only lasted weeks due to bad rust. they were replaced with chrome ones under warranty. I still have them today 'stored' and are still perfect.
