Electric connectors

Okay, next up on the GTL rebuild is the wiring. The headlamp is stuffed with spaghetti and four connection blocks, all ancient and corroded. I’ve read on here that people replace these spade blocks with modern multi block connectors. Has anyone got a link/recommendation as to the type of thing I should be looking for please?
Thanks
Sean

I have not seen inside a GTL headlight but am familiar with later SF wiring and those spade blocks. They are not a problem per se, but with age can be a bit of a voltage thief, usually because the female spades on the wires get loose or deteriorate and new good quality spades will fix things.
On my bikes I have changed things so that stuff goes from the switches more directly to what it is switching instead of multiple trips through the spade block on the way, and now have just one spade block. Also I fit mini relays to ignition switch and headlight beams so that those switches do not have to carry all that current.

Thanks Tippie. Relays sound a good idea. GTL similar to later SF, it has two blocks with 8 spades and two with 4 spades. As you say, new blocks and crimping on new spades would probably be okay. But I’d like to make more room in the headlamp shell and make it tidy.

Looks like what Phil The Wire, the local rewiring bloke, did to my 3c a couple of weeks back. Except its all under the seat mainly. I thought I had mini relays fitted years ago, apparently not, but now they are definitely there.
