Engine Mount Interference?

Putting final drive cover on my RGS1000SFC after putting engine back in frame.  But, the lower engine mount interferes with the insertion of the lower machine screw for the cover.  Really?  The lower engine mount has to come off to get the cover on?

Or, do I have something goofed up?

Doesn't seem like Laverda would actually design it this way.....or would they?  The picture shows that the machine screw is ever so slightly off straight and cannot be screwed in.

Guess the machine at the factory that drilled and taped the cases was never modified for the new motors, RGS and 120 Jota models do not use that screw hole.

Hey Scott, I'm glad you asked that question before I did  :D

I've still got to put the nice new Redax engine in my RGS track bike frame. I bought it as a disassembled basket case, and having never worked on a rubber mounted 120? before I expect it'll be a bit of a puzzle. I'm not even sure whether I have all the engine mount bits and pieces. I'll have a go at it once I've got my Jota back together and off the bike lift.

I only have three stars, so asking dumb questions is par for the course.  You can't as easily being a five star, grand high poohbah and all.  :D :-*
