Engine oil seals

Hello,
I have a Laverda Jota 1979 and need a set of engine oil seals:

Gear box shafts x2
Clutch push rod x1
Alternator x1
valve guides x3

does anyone have a recommended supplier here in the UK?

If you have a reputable bearing supplier in your area then you will probably find they'll supply oil seals as well. If seals are already removed just take them in to be matched. You could just send seal dimensions + photos of the letters & numbers that are usually printed on the seal's outer face.

You may as well replace all them while you're at it. Bit of a false economy to just do x3 !!

Thread 'Oil seals series 1'

I've consulted the Green Book and this is the list as far as I can make out. If there are anymore could some kind knowledgeable soul let me know. Then I can order them all together.

Starter freewheel seal 35 x 47 x 7
Gearbox mainshaft      45 x 60 x 7
Sprocket end oil seal    ?  Nothing given in green book
Clutchrod oil seal  (sprocket end )      6 x 19 x 7
Layshaft oil seal        17 x 40 x 7

I have a full gasket set...:)

Lately, I have needed to travel further and further for engineering supplies. All of the small independents that used to be in every industrial suburb in Sydney have closed or retreated to their head offices, including the local big Daddy, CBC Bearing. I guess it's because most manufacturing has also disappeared locally
 
Fortunate to still have one of those old school bearing shops very close to home. Staff are very helpful and seem to enjoy having you do business with them.

Nothing beats needing a part, jumping on my bicycle and flitting down to the relevant supplier and having it fitted and the moto running within an hour or two - I really hate the waiting period for online ordering, which is unavoidable in dealing with so many of life's necessities. You also have the part in your grubby little hands so there's no confusion and ending up with a useless part that has to go back.

There used to be 3 bearing and engineering shops local to me in Artarmon; one was brilliant, holding some amazing tools as well. The first time I ever saw number drill bits was there; I got the 0.75mm bit, so small that the only chuck I had to use it to drill the leak just in a FCR Kehan was my Dramel. All gone the way of the Dodo.
