Executive Cases

The Executive cases I picked up are slightly different, left to right. The left side has a riveted locking panel (I don't know what else to call it; it's a separate piece attached to the back of the case to index the case onto the mount) while the right side is bolted, with countersunk flathead allen head screws. Anyone know which is factory? Or maybe both were if they weren't made on the same day? The left case with the riveted panel does not line up properly in the case mount; you can't push it on far enough to put the locking bar in place. I have to wonder if it was a repair or alteration but ... It's hard to see in the attached pic, but the locking panel on the riveted case, the seam between the two isn't flush so it sits proud at the forward and top edges. The seam on the bolted case matches perfectly, although even that case just barely slides far enough forward to lock in place. For what it's worth, both cases have number and apparently initialized stickers on them, the right showing 12 and "COR" and the left showing 38 and "COR".

I think mine has the countersunk screws. I am not at the bikes location but will be in a few days again. Regardless both bags slide in and seat properly. The only thing I have to do is guide the little deadbolt thing from the lock into the slots on the folding arm with my fingertip when locking them on.

I'm going to have to do something about the left case on mine, there's no way it will slide fully home. I plan to drill out the rivets and resecure with countersunk screws. This has been an odd process getting this Executive kit to fit. It's a simple design and should be a straight-forward proposition, but at least with this lot of bits nothing fits as I'd expect.
