Facebook, the living dead.

It was a good few years ago now but I vividly remember riding along a country road near St Raphael on a scorching hot day and getting stuck behind an offal lorry. Seem to remember going for a very dodgy overtake to get up wind of it. Truly revolting smell !!

I grew up close to a factory that made blood-and-bone fertiliser, going past there on the way to school was pretty unpleasant…
There was also a vinegar factory in town, not terrible but fairly pervasive and the smell never really went away

If you know the Creedence song with the lyrics 'Oh no! Stuck in Lodi again!' and wondered what it's about, my sister was driving me from SF to LA to catch a plane back to SF for a connecting flight to Europe (don't ask - long story) - and we drove through this stinking pig farming region, really strong stench, and on the side of the road I see the town sign Lodi. I'm guessing if you were budding songwriter hitching and got stuck in Lodi you'd probably write a song about it some day.

Not sure which I detest most but pulp mills, rotting Brussels Sprouts and pig manure are well at the top of my list. Fortunately I have moved away from the region of BC that has the last two and the nearest pulp mill is many hours away.

Tonight I am enjoying the smell of sausage cooking over a fire in my wheelbarrow. Best portable firepit I've ever seen.

Wheelbarrow? Hmmm, mine’s plastic… but I think I know where a metal one is…
Bung a photo up on the BBQ thread 😁
