I finally found someone who can vapour blast sandcast crankcases without destroying them. It was a 3 hour drive each way to get to his shop on the Florida Atlantic coast, but he did a good job (did it on the spot and charged a very fair price), so now that bit is done.
Gotta work out again how to post images here, its been years. Good thing I've got plenty of time. EVERYTHING is shutting down here in Florida. THere's going to be a big burst of babies delivered in 9 months. And we'll have a whole population group of "quaranteenagers" 13 years later
