Can anyone provide the dimensions and placement for the attachment "prongs" that secure the front of the saddle? Seems like they can be fabricated easily but need the dimensions and location. I have received a replacement saddle from Alberto Pastorelli which is really nice but will need the original fitment.

Here is what a previous owner did or had done to try and make the saddle that came with the bike work. Still doesn't fit well and secure.

Think your frame never had those prongs. Seems more likely that you have a GT (or GTF) with the narrow (S) frame. See mine.

Andy mentioned in another thread he is resurrecting #1218, most definitely a wide-frame.

Still remnants of the earlier, round prongs to be seen Marnix. Their positions tally nicely with the pics IAG posted. Also has the the 2 sharp prongs on the tank to take the earlier spring-loaded set up for tank fixing and the tank fits nicely on the frame, the frame/tank pairing seems to be correct.

A non issue because:
a) Alberto's saddles are for the wide frame.
b) Alberto's saddles are made to cope with both the prongs and the flat tabs.

Paul, who still has a matching number GT frame and engine, tank and side panels with metal shrouded forks for sale.

I tried to fit Alberto's saddle but these flat tabs do not line up or even reach the slots made to receive them. So, still need to do something and will want to return to as close to original as possible.
