Hi!
Yesterday, my neighbour, the retired yacht mechanic who helps me restoring, had to go to the hospital due to a liver infection, so the idea was to wait him for the first start up. Today morning I wanted to leave everthing ready. Some oil on the valves. Engine oil. Fuel. check no oil or fuel leaks. Make the engine turn a bit without spark plugs....
Then I think, ok, just will give it a one second shot to the starter.
I couldn't hear the starter, after less than a turn, the engine was roaring!! adjust the mix a bit, the idles... and now it starts with just a touch of the starter 8) 8) I am so happy!
Here are the videos, one for the first start, second after couple of 100 meters. I can't make longer as still don't have the front master cylinder ready from the ceracoating. But the bike was smooth, and all gears entered smoothly.
By the way, i would like to take the chance to ask... How do I adjust best the primary chain tension? I don't really understand the green book procedure, and I can keep 3000 rpm and ajust at the same time as the book describes, because I am alone.
OF COURSE, a big big thank you to all of you, without your help, it wouldn't have been possible! It is an amazing community! I hope I can continue with the 1000 project and whatever come next!
