FLAM Wheel colour

Hi, just had the wheels straightened and cleaned up. What coating are folks putting on the wheels? I was thinking of getting them powder coated the RAL 9006 same as the frame but am open to suggestions.

Oh, and what filler do you use for the various small chips and gouges etc?

Really, I was led to believe that the 3CL silver frame was RAL 9006 White Aluminium ?

That is why I am asking. The frame is painted but I have just got the wheels sandblasted and am trying to figure out what colour to paint them.
 
Come on guys, I'm talking to the powder coater this week and I need a colour match for the wheels. Is it the RAL 9006 the same as the frame or the grey RAL 7040 or something completely different?
 
Hi Dave I tried chasing the RAL color reference for when I was repainting my 120 Jota frame, the very experienced paint shop I use could not do a thing with that reference they ended up doing a color match which was close.
The paint on the frame and wheels on this bike were original but two different colors got mixed for both applications, sorry this isn't helping your dilema Dave, do you want to powdercoat the wheels or would you be happy with a good hard two pack, my paint wasn't coded but I know the start tinter was a medium metalic silver.

Some time ago I made an enquiry to Scott Potter for suggested wheel paint codes for 76/77 triple but probably no use as you're intending to powder coat them.

Perhaps you could email Scott re powder coating or Tom or Keith or.... at their websites or pm them. Don't forget to say please and thank you, as this time of year they may have the phones and laptops turned off for it is holiday time.

Laverdamania site also has a run down on paint codes - including wheels.

What model is your Lav again? I thought it was a pre-79 3CL (but I probably have that wrong). Are you going down the silver frame/ orange body work route?

Thanks guys, even you Tim (maybe, well you didn't say what colour rubber). The bike is a 76 3CL. Will NOT be painted orange. It was originally green with silver frame when I bought it new and those are the colours it will reappear in.

OK, so JLO reckons they are the same colour as the frame so that is what they will be.
