Float Level

Does anyone know what the float level should be? Distance between the gasket surface and bottom of float when carburetor?s is upside down.

,, & it won't sit level on the intake opening as shown in Fig 13, as the pumper sticks out in the way.
so sit it up on a level block, or on the edge of the bench.
