I remember someone saying that oversize bobbins are available to recondition knackered floaters, well mine are, so I must get on it, so who sells them? was it a French bike shop?
CLEM

I think Red does them as well, maybe not separately.
Maybe Ralph too, if he has a batch in stock.

No, I bought mine through France Equipment I think they are called.
Only have 1 1/2 sets left, when I run out intend to make my own.
They charge a fortune for them and FE where the cheap mob.

Hey Clem while you're at it , move the calipers behind the fork legs? :D
BTW, Clem is now a fully fledged KTMDuke 690R pilot...jeez, he had me worried setting off down that lunar landscape that passes for his drive on me shiney bike....but returned unscathed with a big grin! :D

Hi Clem,

Yeh, it was me wot sourced them for Red, way back in 2008  :o, following a lead from Jean-Louis.  As Red says, they come from a supplier called France Equipement, but you have to go thru the trade to get them  :'(.

Their part ref was/is FE.BOBBIN1 and the price then was ?3.05/ea.  Came with wave washers and circlips included, I seem to remember.*

* P.s  Yep, here they are prior to dispatch, lined up like the Vieille Garde ... :D

Wolfgang, with help from J-L sourced some for several sets of disks he had and enough for my Corsa. He arranged the machining as well here in Canada. Not sure if has any in stock now. France Equipment were difficult to deal with but eventually we got the right ones.

Craig, I have pm'd you
and Nicko 7, I am keeping the calipers in front of the fork legs until the braking forces have straightened the legs back out, then will rethink.

Clem,

I don't understand how the braking forces on the fork legs will be different when the calipers are behind the fork legs, compared to when they are in front.

Bazzee, I think that is a little joke by Clem. As the brakes don't work anyway, the point doesn't arise, that right Clem? ;)

Or it confirms that the forces are the same either way...
