When I was young there were animals, birds, fish, trees and clean water now it barely exist.

Granted the World wants our resources but it seems there are people in charge making a fortune while the land, animals and people suffer !

When I was young I came across a Bear or 2 a day, Foxes, Wolves, Flocks of Ducks, Sparrows, Black Birds, Beaver Ponds... etc - Not there anymore. except for baron land and dried up stangant swamps.

Very SAD ;o(

My God the whole forest is gone and so are the animals !

I am assuming that you have no children or other descendants.
Our children and their children have to solve and to "pay for" global warming, lack of drinking water, food problems, rising sea levels, .......

I guess you guys will be selling your motorbikes then? I mean, a gasoline powered leisure device? Goodness, such an easy obvious move to show your commitment.

A motorcycle is not a leisure device. Better than that, it proves that you're more intelligent than all those idiots stuck in cars.
It takes you shopping, to see the doctor, to take the kids to school, come sun, come rain, come snow. And it's fun.

Take your holidays near home, stop eating fruit and vegetables out of season transported at great ecological cost from the other side of the earth.
Stop taking the plane, take the train. Use internet for your business meetings or rather than go to work.

And be it petrol or electric powered, individual means of transportation are a problem, we need to think collective. But people with breathing difficulties will find electric better which is one step in the right direction.

No, I prone the end of the private vehicle and mandatory public transport. Private vehicles, including mine, need to be taxed and legislated off the road.
Electric vehicles is just side stepping the problem.
But, I'll probably move on to an electric aided bicycle to go into town for shopping and appointments since town will be closed to non electric vehicles in the near future.
And rely on autonomous small buses, larger electric buses and electric trains for when I wander further afield. I would very much like to see that only conservatism and the power of money is going to make it a long struggle.

My brother has an electric bike. It's a Zero SR, around 2017 vintage I think. It performs very well, but doesn't have much of a range. Something around 150km I think, so it's perfect for city riding but not practical for anything much further afield than maybe 60 km and still be confident of getting home. He doesn't have a fast charger so it takes about 8hrs from flat to fully charged. I'd be tempted to get one but the prices are still pretty high for electric vehicles.

Political orientation has nothing to do with the movement away from fossil fuels. It will have everything to do with family cost. Tax free or minimal tax support has been a great help, but as fossil fuel tax base literally dries up, do expect tax movement to tap into electric vehicle power source outlets, to pay for road repair tax base.
And if you live in a jurisdiction which sources electricity from anything other than hydro-electric power, you do not have any bragging rights to any kind of higher virtue compared to
Others. I work at an official Tesla repair centre. I totally get it. I understand. In my area, all of our electricity is from hydro electric source. Coal? Wind turbines? Solar? You’re talking rubbish if you think you’re saving the world.

If we want to change something, we have to start with ourselves and prove that it can be done in a more environmentally friendly way.
Opencast mining, fracking, plastic waste, water pollution ... there are many things where we have to start.

I’m with you on plastic waste, I sell hundreds of tonnes of plastic per year. I just wish people would use more. Recycle your calendar wrapping thoughtfully people.

For the moment, Northern France, parts of Australia and Canada are under water.

And in this age of instant news, we hear everything as it happens.

In days gone by, we had to wait until the seagull came back with a blade of grass to know the water was subsiding. By the time the seagull came back, everyone forgot why it left.

Example: We have omitted the transparent plastic cover sheet in the current calendar for reasons of environmental and weight.
In contrast the stretching is necessary, because we also send the calendars by sea freight and to more humid regions - otherwise the paper will curl.

There is not only black and white - you will never get by entirely without plastics, but we have to avoid unnecessary packaging, for example.
There is not an infinite number of crude oil - that is why such a rethinking should also be in your interest.

Okay, let’s stop using plastic.

They are a biproduct of oil refining. The science nuts were charged with doing something with the gases given off refining. Hence we have plastic.

So tell your grandkids they can’t breathe due to ethylene poisoning, because we stopped taking the fumes from refining oil and turning it into a solid ….. so we didn’t pollute the world with plastic solids.
