Forks and wheels

I,ve used an XJR 43mm fork and triple clamps, is ok with an 17" wheel bit the offset is to small for a 18" wheel.
They are not the best suspension wise, but with other springs and oil it's quite ok.

I recalled a discussion on M1R forks which Grant had posted a pick of some USD's fitted to a Lav.

Nico Bakker swingarm, 17" wheels, Mikuni RS 36s, braced frame, extended steering head.
Original 900SS type fairing taken off when he fell off it on a racetrack.
The Dutch owner (Sander) is not interested how it looks, only how it goes.

perhaps fitting an 17" front doesn't look the best but i have the idea that an 18" front with a 17" rear might be a good idea to more easily allow a larger tyre to fit in the swing-arm (yes, i know there is a chain problem, too).

Intersting comments re Ohlins suspension. I'll give you an example of how good they are. I had a set, front and back, on a Guzzi.

I took them off and sold them.

Why? Because I was going to die. The difference between Ohlins and anything else is incomprehensible. They are that good. You have no idea how quicker you can hustle through corners with out even thinking about it. On my local hoon road I was eventually going twice as fast as I had been on the standard Marzocchis. They are mind boggling.

If you've got the dollars - buy them. If you can't, at least try to try them someday just to see what all the fuss is about. If it was me, I'd save the money up and get Ohlins RSU's.
