Formula 500 Race tyres

Just getting close to finishing the Formula project, hoping to be ready to go in 2021 with both Monty and the Formula up for racing..

Thoughts on tyres..?
I have been using the Avon M type race compounds on Monty.. 110 rear, 100 front, quite successfully, but wondering what other choices there might be out there..?
Rims are the 215s, but curious as to wider opportunities to suit..?

Appreciate ideas from other 500 racers around the place..
Cheers

Hi Ian,
Long time since I have raced a 500 on standard wheels!
First of all if you go too wide you will loose certain amount of 'flick ability', turn in will be slower.

I'd stick with the 100 front and 110 rear, OK you could try a 120 on rear.
Of course if you go too big the tyre will be forced to deform due to the narrow rim.

I have been impressed with the 'Continental Road Attack 2 ' that I fitted to my road going 1200 . The first time I rode the bike with the tyre on, the first impression was yes I could race with this. It just gives good feed back.
You could try Continental latest offering - ContiRoadAttack 3 CR.

You racing this year? We might be at Misano beginning of October but COVID19 could still put a spanner in the works on that!
Best Regards,
Andy

Thanks guys..
Something to consider I reckon also, is tyre width.. aware of limitations of the 215 rims..

Not racing this year Andy.. too many dramas with travel etc. but looking forward to hopefully a better year next year.

Cheers
