and scaffolding.
Mr Egli is known to have made about four frames for the 750 and (under license) in UK a now retired person called graham Binnion also made a few, so there might have been six or seven genuine EGLI SF's/SFC's, There have been many copies made all over the globe of the Egli chassis to house all manor of engine units, Laverda included, Egli has sued about a dozen of these copiers with varying results and more exist , for example Moto martin made two for triples, when the Egli chassis was not even remotely similar to what they normally do.
Mr Egli rightly thought that the suspended 750 Laverda twin would be a great example to build into one of his chassis's, suspended in much the same way as the originator for his hill climbing competition days ,the Egli Vincent, the problem (with the Laverda twin) was one of vibration, not a worry for a 2 or 3 mile uphill blast, or even a 10 lap short circuit race, but as a saleable "road bike" kit the weight and gauge of the original chassis is needed to damp the vibration, the bare Egli chassis weighs only about 14 lbs (6.5 kilo's) and I have a picture of me holding mine up for the photo hanging on my little finger, but vibration is severe, I rode the bike to the IOM in 79 and 80 and the 220 mile journey from home, actually cut a trough on the underside of my riding boots of equal dimension to the foot pegs, strangely though my rump was comfortable sitting on the bare aluminium Godet/Genoud replica whale tail seat that I had made for the project.
So the long and the short of it is, vibration, can you suffer it? nothing ever broke off of mine, and much of it was self fabricated (tank/seat/side panels/ swing arm/forks/mounts/ pegs/ brackets etc) and adapted to my needs and desires, but after two years road riding I retired her and she became a race bike/daytime road bike.
To properly answer the question I don't know of anyone making replicas in the UK, one is already listed above (but not UK), Egli themselves (Fritz is now retired and the business sold and strangely not to his son, who I met during an Amicale rally there a few years ago). Under the direction of Fritz no details were ever deleted and you could order any frame that had previously been made, or (at great cost) a commission for something not done before, under the new ownership ,although Fritz is still a consultant, I don't know, but what I do know is that if you order an Egli Vincent chassis from Egli themselves it will be made by Patrick Godet in France, he might make you the bare chassis for your 750, never hurts to ask.
In short Egli have been a victim of their own very simple design, originally, no bent tubes were allowed in his design, and just CDS steel used, no fancy high carbon stuff, the 4" top tube being the backbone that it all hangs from, it would not be hard to make one, excepting (maybe) the swing arm which used oval tubing that may not be available.
I wonder if Grahams jigs still exist and if he would part with them, from what I can gather he is rather reclusive these days and does not show any interest in his former profession, so maybe they have already been scrapped
