Front disc hydraulics

Hmm.. MiniSport.. at Padiham nr Rochdale.. spent a small fortune in there over the years :o.. an Alladin's cave for all things Mini :D. I don't think that hose clamp would work on braded lines: a) it wouldn't squeeze the line enough to stop the flow and; b) if it did there's a risk it would kink/crush the pipe :o..

Useful tool otherwise tho..

Thanks Brian, another great tip  ;)

Does that tool damage the hoses (I assume not, but worth asking)_  Also, does it work on braided hoses?

Cheers

Pete

The clamp doesn't damage rubber hoses as it has rounded edges but for braided lines I'd just use the bleeder (its not quite as beneficial on a bike where there is only one circuit to deal with even if air is introduced whatever happens)

hello Pete,
looks like you are in luck, the cheaper vac pump from Frost looks to be exactly like the one I bought years ago for about 15 quid more than toidays price.

once you have "adjusted" to using it, you will wonder why you never did it earlier, especially when doing rears on triples

I'm looking for an FO9 caliper to suit a LH front of fork fitting . Does anybody know which bikes originally used these calipers? Or better still does anybody have one for sale [please PM me]
I know that BMW G/S series used the RH front of fork fitting but the LH one is proving elusive.

Dale, I've got a pair of these calipers [the LH one is on loan...] and a Lockheed adjustable ratio [16mm to 19mm] master cylinder compliments them perfectly, which supports Rod's calculations.

Thanks Clem, that's great!

I have an idea that it is a Bennelli six rear that you are looking for Bob.

Thanks Clem, I'd come to the same conclusion and tracked one of these down a few months ago . I got very excited when I unwrapped it only to find it has a 10mm different offset ! Consequently if anybody wants one....
Guzzi Spadas used FO9s but I haven't been able to check whether it's the correct one yet.

Brakes again!

I had a second hand gold-line master cyll fitted to the front whilst I was away at work, and was happy with the result until it failed after about 2 hours of use.
After refitting the original master cyll, I was back with the old problem of bleeding the system.
No luck after about an hour, so I tried Reggi's trick of leaving it over night with the lever strapped into the handle bar, and it has worked a treat.
Thanks Reggi.

Now I have to find re-build kits for the new master cyll and calipers before I fit them.
Does not appear to be any available here in Malta.
(Serial number stamped on the Master is: 10513001,
and on the calipers is: 205130 01 on one side and 205133 00 on the other)

Any suggestions for suppliers?
