Just finished refurbing my 38mm cerianis. New seals, thorough cleaning of all components, lightly honed internal bore and wet & dried spacer to get smooth movement of plunger .
Then put it all together in what i think is the correct order(ref previous posts) and filled with oil.
Job done.
But?
Can you guys tell me if this is right?
On putting the bottom of the fork on the ground and pushing down on the top , the movement i feel and get is slightl resistance then moves to become firm with more resistance, its as though  the first movement is opening the valve. You can also hear the oil moving. This occurs on both forks.

Hi Wellsy
Feedback or lack of might be becuase your description or question is a little ambiguous. I can imagine what you're doing but it depends entirely on how much action, effort, weight you put into your pushing. It would also depend on the spring rate, the viscosity of the oil you've used and how strong you are. Are you an accountant or do you fix trains for a living ?  ;)

If you can get at least a couple of inches movement out of one, like a Man size pogo stick, you're probabably on a winner. It wont tell you you've assembled it correctly though. There are diagrams around if you haven't got access to one.

Hope that helps and good luck.

Rob

ps, hearing the oil is normal, infact you should work the forks manually, with the front brake on, to circulate the oil to get the damping operational.
