Probably the silliest question here ever, but kind of confused.
When I looked at the early SF tank with flip-up cap I had assumed (as with my BMW) you tap out the forward pin and slide it off. However, on the now cap-less GT tank it is supposed to go on to there's a half-hole "fork" at the rear, and a pin in the forward hole that I can't get out. Logically I'd think the pin on the GT tank has to come out, slide the cap on, and re-fit the pin.
I can take a big hammer and smash it out but before I'm denting the tank even more figured I could check here. In the mean time I also found the green book but other than stating removal is easy there's not much help.
Is my logic correct & should meddle more to remove the pin from the GT tank or is it part of the attachment and am I missing something?
