fuel petcocks

I replaced the fuel petcocks with those with the square alu. body.  After just filling the tank I noticed one is now leaking.  It weeps fuel when in the off (C) position; it does not weep when in reserve or the lever is 180 degrees from the "on" position.  Frustrating!  I have never had an issue with this style of petcock before so I'm unsure what to do.  Is it toast or can it be rebuilt?
I can't afford to ignore this, as it could be a dangerous situation in more ways than one.

Try with renewing the internal rubber/viton seal.
There are 2 different cubicles used on Laverdas: Paioli and Orlandi.
The seals have different diameters. So best to check it.
Unscrew the hexagonal nut under the lever.

Just a word of caution with any aluminum petcock. If you are leaving your ride in storage for any length in time - Drain that ethanol fuel period or it will eat your tank, brittle the fuel lines and eat the petcocks and carbs into aluminum dust. Once drained spray with RED Rust Check and leave it. Square Fuel Petcocks are easy to dissemble and lube. Use Teflon tape on all threads.

The last thing you want to do is Flame Your Ass ;o)

Assure every gasket and O-Ring is up to par and engine torqued to spec.
