Anyone tried these?

Heaps cheaper than the M-Unit and appear to do much the same thing.

All that does is give you a set of circuits that can be on permanently or switched with the ignition, all nicely fused etc. The M-unit goes a lot further with indicators and headlight control all built in and programable. M-unit can pretty much replace all your electrics except the starter relay and ignition system. It even has smart switch off of things like headlights etc when you hit the start button. Pretty cool unit by the looks of it!

... And other than the M-unit, if the fuses are damaged and you have no spare ones with you, you are left stranded... The M-unit has kind of "self-healing" fuses, that - once the shortage has been removed - automatically let power through again...

Well, some of the same things anyway, except :-

Integrated digital hazard lights. Stays ON despite you have switched OFF the ignition.integrated digital hazard lights. Stays ON despite you have switched OFF the ignition.
Integrated starter relay (up to 40A current flow)

NEW!!! Flasher relay like the m-WAVE with fade-in/fade-out look!
NEW!!! Position light function with your flash lights! Constant low light at all flash lights.
integrated digital brake light modulator (like m-Stop). Flashing mode adjustable
integrated horn relay
integrated anti-theft alarm
smart switch off fuction of loads during start
possibility to operate your rear and brake light with only one wire

And as Lothar mentioned electronic fuses.

Mind you the sasche and the other one have less to go wrong but they don't all do the same things. As far as I'm concerned anything microprocessor driven like the M-unit will leave you stranded one day!!

Drikko,

having installed a few Munits myself, I think the Sachse offers what most of us need.

Horn relay : I don't have a horn mounted, if you cant hear a laverda on the road, you're deaf!
Alarm system : only works if installed a certain way on the Munit, stealing a Laverda ?
Start relay : you will need an extra start relay anyway. (40 Amps is not enough)
One wire tail/brake light: when you are rewiring a bike what difference does one wire make?
Flashing brake light option: not necessary, is it allowed?
Indicator (running lights); not necessary
Smart switch off function: one point for the Munit,

The Sachse has electronic fuses

Regards, Melle

M-unit doesn't let you switch the headlight off. It only lets you toggle between high and low beam. Must be set up for countries where permanent light on is a requirement. Of course, you can get around that problem with relays, but that kind of defeats the purpose of having an M-unit in the first place.

Cheers,
Cam

All right already. I give up. The fuzeblock is shit in comparison to every other unit on the planet.  ::) :-*

Haha, nah, it looks great  :D

Need a horn here, the men in blue don't take the lack of a horn very lightly unfortunately. Besides it's a great way to show appreciation to the girls in bikinis at the coast  :D :D

Hi Davo,

the thing that would make me stay away from the fuzeblock is that it is not water sealed obviously. Water getting into electrics is no good at all. You could argue that the original one is also not water sealed and that it is basically only a fuse-box replacement with no electronics in it and you are right, however, it is also an issue over here with corrosion on the contacts. To just replace the fuse box however, you could also use something much cheaper...: Fuse Box

Use two of them for constant and switched power (which is the intention of the fuzeblock) and you are a) way cheaper and b) save space and weight). The only relay in that fuzeblock is just for switching the power on or off, not for turn signals, horn or other components, so you basically need these relays in addition to the fuzeblock. In the M-unit, everything is in that tiny little box. Love it. To achieve the same, you would need both the Sachse twin-relais and the Fuzeblock, which cost you at the end maybe more than the m-unit and is much more complicate to wire and has some other pitfalls.

@Cam: there is an easy fix to the headlight thing: either let the main for the headlight go through the switch on the handle bar (that's anyway how it works on our and all other bikes) or - as you said - use another relais for that which is the better solution. It's 1 m more cable and a 8? relais - so what...  ;)

Or benefit from the better visibility when leaving the lights on and invest in a proper charging circuit of your alternator, which is anyway a good idea...  ;) Or reduce the power consumption of the bike by using some LED bulbs on tail-/brake-light, turn signals and parking light. Reduces the need for power by roughly 25 - 30 Watt. Or use the M-Unit to switch between parking light and low beam while using highbeam with a separate switch on your handle bar (which you have anyway...). Or...

"Many roads lead you to Rome" as we say over here  ;)

We're in Australia Lothar and have no roads leading anywhere near Rome, Roma yes, Rome no. Cam doesn't even have a road leading to mainland Oz so he is completely buggered.  :D

I have the original Bosch fuse block and a couple of spare fuses in my pocket.
I take the indicators off my Laverdas.
Keep it simple.
Ciao
Paul
