This case highlights the importance of checking everything at assembly. It pays to check every gasket at assembly. I have received head gaskets for SF which sat so tight on the main studs that they were nearly impossible to fit over the threaded part without damaging the gasket material. They would have virtually cut off oil supply to the cam, as well as the drain to the RHS/starter clutch bits. I cannot remember the last time I got an SF head gasket that I could fit without removing the 3 small studs and screwing them through the gasket before then refitting them to the head whilst hanging in the gasket. I don?t really like belting into a reinforced gasket with my hole punches, especially on a new expensive head gasket. I probably should complain and send them back, but I take it as part of the assembly/checking process.
