Hi all,
Racing at Nevers Magny Cours circuit 24/25th October.
Never been there so if anyone as raced there who could advise me on suitable gearing for a triple that would be great.

Cheers,Andy

No idea, 160/60r17 longest straight 626m, the lowest gear you've ever used.

I used to use 37 and 38 with above tyre but, with 150/65r18 im finally using 41 teeth and its made a tremendous difference ( Nurburgring GP) down from 39.
Id pitch at 40-41 on your bike, dont blame me unless you win .

Just as a matter of curiosity, what's the typical requirement, top speed available on the straight or what a particular gear might pull out of the majority of corners, ot the best all-in-one lap time. How much effect would 2 teeth up or down at the rear actually have,

Two teeth is a big difference. Always gear for acceleration, the actual speed through the corners determines it to a large degree. Lower gearing effectively reduces the step between the gears. If I recall correctly the Jota used 19/42 at Bathurst (130 rear tyre as prod bike), 245 down Conrod straight.

punch out of the corners, top speed on the straights means jack shit
you are after your best lap time, not your highest speed
we have sprockets in 43, 42, 41, 40, 39, 38, 37 and depending on which track we race at we will change gearing to suit the track
