Bought this for my 1974 3c but it doesn’t fit, so not sure which Laverda model it was originally made for, maybe someone can guess from the pictures and measurements. Great condition, with original Laverda sticker, open to sensible offers?

Paul, the mounting lugs simply don’t line up with the frame, hence my problem, could you please share the measurements of your rack?

Weild, the only thing I can think of is vertical or laid forward shocks, and that's bleeden obvious to blind Freddy. Typically, one tab mounts on the top of the rear shock and the other mounts on the end of the frame where the rear mudguard bolts to. Really simple. You might think.

Wouldn't the two rear (mid) mounts fit onto the seat bolt bracket?

Maybe, some bikes also had both vertical and lay forward shock mounts at the same time and frame. This is a head-scratcher. It would be way easier to mess with a rack sometime in the past, though.

I seem to remember it was the vertical shock mounts and angled mudguard mounting holes at the end of the frame rails but it's a long time since I had one.

Just my humble opinion, but I am fussy about luggage loads. When my first rack needed constant weld repairs, I doubt that one is structurally strong enough to take a case of Beers, even adding a member to the pillion pegs wouldn't help much. The rack bit is fine, but the mounting shape and angles to the bike frame are horrible.

I've measured up what I could.
I have 8cm from back of rear mount to back of shock mount measured on the rack.
19.5 cm across the outside of the two rear frame lugs.
If my frame, 2098, 1974, is anything to go by, there's a certain variability in these frames since a side stand mounting plate bought from Joe wouldn't fit due to about 5mm discrepancy between the lower engine mount and the footrest mount.
I had to make a template so Joe could have another plate made.
Paul
