Getting too D###ed Old

OK Guy's, need a little help with value of My 3cl.

A little history:
Bought in the late 70's, rode until the early to mid 80's.
Wanted to spruce up the cosmetics a bit, then Work and Life
started interfering. (kids take a Lot to raise) and the 900SS and Rocket 3
both still ran. Now retired, too damned busy, and more inclined to enjoy
my beer rather than spreading tiny pieces all-over the shop.
Located in Oregon, in a tiny, tiny town.

Bike has been sitting for 30+ year's now, I'm not nearly that fast
anymore. (nice comfy Beemer on the radar)

1976 3cl, 9014 miles on the clock-pretty sure original,
        Jota's,(have the single collector)
RFS w/factory hardware, still have the LFS hardware.
K-N's on the carbs,(have the factory air box),
turn lights tucked in, aux day-light mounted (save the
battery). When I stored it did fresh lube, has not been started since.
Tank has been stripped, all the rubber bits are shot, one side panel
is a different color (lost on a speedy corner and never seen again),
seat is in pretty good shape, chrome and aluminum are kinda dull
(remember the 30+ part?)(remember the 30+ part?)(do you remember the 30+ part??)

Would insert a pic but seem to be having the normal #$^&* luck most newbies have.
PM me with a e-mail and I can send.
May be a newbie but been following for years.

      OK guy's,
Ask all you want, I'll scratch my head and try to answer sanely.
Am getting a bore scope so to take a peek in the cylindrical thingers, before I check to see
if it turns over smoothly and quietly by hand.
Been storing and hauling for 30+ years already so not in any need to dump it fast.

Welcome to the nuthouse rocket. :D

Why not shrug off the boring beemer and get the triple running again?  If only to find out if you're still alive and kickin'... nothing gets your blood rushing like a nice Laverda triple.  And a beer tastes even better after a ride on one. :D

Thanks Piet,

Life as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic has left my bones beat to Hell.
Still have a '64 Hornet left to get the blood pumping (before I pass out from kicking 10.5
pistons  over), Beemer for lazy rides w/Mrs.

if that was in the UK it would be about five thousand British pounds around 7750 US dollars.
it could even be worth the cost of shipping to UK or Aus,
I think it would be quite a bit less in the USA but I have no real way of knowing.

Clem, are you smoking that joint or do I have to come and take it off you?

(Another way of saying I think your estimate is on the high side.........)

I just sold one in bits for ?3500 and if I'd been in less of a hurry could have got more (I sold it the same day I advertised it) so I reckon Clems not too far out.

Dan-Before you post it on eBay give the forum a shot at it...if you really want to sell it. How about something different: set a reasonable amount of time (5 days?) for members to ask questions & make offers, bike goes to a loving, caring new home. I'll get the ball rolling with an offer of $4000, provided the motor turns quietly and smoothly by hand. ;)

The bits are always worth more than the bikes :)
