Ghost Strike 668 Turn Signals

My turn signals stopped working; I assumed it must be the flasher relay. I bought a new one from Napa at replaced it. Still nothing. I thought cheap part so I bought another one from Advanced Auto Parts; still nothing. I checked that the relay receives 12 V and when turn signal turned on it sends out 12 V; still no turn signals on all four of them. I checked the bulbs and they are good. The Laverda schematics are garbage at best, at least for my bike. Are there any other components in the turn signal circuitry?
 
I couldn't find a wiring diagram for the Ghost Strike, but I have one for a 750S. I presume the indicator system is the same.

It's a dead simple system and is very similar to the Breganze era bikes. It's pretty much as shown in the schematic below, except the Zane era bikes have a fuse after the ignition switch. So the "12V from ignition switch" shown below is actually 12V from the fuse box.

If all indicators have failed, then it's gotta be something common to all. The only parts of the system that are common to all indicators are the fused 12V feed to the flasher relay, the flasher relay itself, the wire from the flasher relay to the handlebar switch (and all plug connectors in between), and the input side of the switch.

You've already confirmed 12V is getting to the relay so the fuse is good. You're also getting 12V at the other side of the relay, so the relay is conducting (whether it actually flashes when the circuit is completed is another issue).

So your problem lies somewhere between the relay output terminal and the innards of the switch. It could be a broken wire (possibly a connector that's parted company with the cable) or a failure inside the switch (bad solder joint for example). Just keep following the 12V signal until you find the break.
 
Dellortoman, thank you very much for confirming my understanding that there are no other electronic components beside the relay itself. I didn’t check the switch but now listening to you that makes the most sense. I’ll check it tomorrow and report my findings. Thanks again.
 
BTW, Laverda indicator systems are designed to work with incandescent bulbs. If yours has LED indicators, then someone has modified it and the wiring will be a little different to that shown above. But that won't make any difference to the fault-finding logic in your case. The power feed to the indicator switch would still be the same.
 
I have no power coming into the switch. I had to replace the fuel pump and for that I had to take out the fuel tank which required separating the frame. I must have cut the wire, somehow, when I was putting it back together. I don’t have time now but when I do I’ll run a new wire from the relay along the frame and connect it directly into the switch. I’m sure that will take care of the problem. And the bulbs are factory not LED.

That’d make me want to say a bad word!
Make sure you disconnect the old wire, don’t want that floating around causing problems in a years time 😉
 
I took it a part and it is the switch that is worn out. Does anyone know if another bike has the same turn signal/ low-high beam/ horn switch? The guys at 3cmotto.it want 118 € + 50€ shipping.
