GSXR wheels for a 1200 with a Corsa swinging arm

I find it staggering how many car drivers activate their brake light and obviously their brakes and ride them from the top to the bottom constantly on.

Most cars these days have automatic transmissions which offer bugger-all engine braking. So most drivers are always dabbing the brakes. That's one of the reasons I don't like automatics.
I have a manual transmission diesel vehicle which has heaps of engine braking. I sometimes wonder if car drivers behind me think my brake lights aren't working when I slow down.

If so many claim not to use their rear brake, why is it then that I need to replace so many rear brake pads?  And discs? :o

Me at least was talking about rear brake usage of one person on race tracks. I am using the rear brake, too, a lot.

The reason why you have to change so many rear discs and pads could also be that - due to not using them to much - they do not disengage anymore and wear just under normal riding...  ;). Or they are just adjusted to tightly:

Remember well when we had the forum meeting and "Mini" M?ller on his 750 S Formula had the rear brake exploding and the liquid going up in flames due to the hot rear disc... we could safe the bike by one person taking a towel he had in his tank bag and just killed the flames. We disengaged the brake lever from the pump and went on, but that was really scary...

Most cars here in uber green Norway are either battery or hybrid and deceleration activates the charging system, as does the braking up to an algorithm determined system pressure, when the calipers kick in. Carmakers blame people for not doing any hard braking when their discs need replacing due to rust and refuse warranty.
As Quentin said, everyone can ride just how they like. I can assure you that you wouldn't stand a chance of passing the riding test here without correct prioritising of the front brake.
I used to follow dirt riding technique advice from Gall and those guys when I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to ride in the bush, and they stressed learning to prioritise the front, and to ditch a front drum if you had one like on my old PE.
Casey Stoner feathered the front at full lean racing MotoGP to stabilise the bike, so he said on Rusty?s Garage - you have got to be kidding me!! Those guys used the rear to control wheelspin out of corners before the algorithms took over.

Modern automatic cars brake with the tempomat/ speed controler and the brake lights burn while braking.
I enjoy automatic cars but also 5 gear Laverdas😃
