Here is one for the river counters out there.

I’ve taken the handlebar mounting brackets off and noticed that the mounting bolts all have one thread end which is slightly bent, is this deliberate or should both ends be straight?

My 750 has the same handlebar mounts which aren't bent so yours must've somehow bent when they were tightened. Check the underside of the yoke where the nuts tighten against the surface. Probably best to replace them, but that's your call-

It was pointed out to me on here years ago that the aluminium pieces have a bigger gap at the front end to accommodate the bracket and if you put them in the wrong way round the bracket breaks at the mounting hole. Maybe it's something to do with this? has the bracket had a thicker metal piece welded in where the mounting holes are? That was my solution to stop mine breaking again and it worked.

My old bracket has an added plate, but it is also starting to crack, hence why I’m fitting a replacement, which annoyingly doesn’t have an added plate, so is thinner.

I’ll get some new straight mounting bolts and see if I can get it to fit

Those sheet metal brackets broke regardless. Any bike with them intact from new has to be very low km.
